The location is excellent: within about 15 minutes, you can reach the main attractions of Athens, which made exploring the city very convenient. The regular restaurants are great. The ancient stuff is awesome. The sea is a close by. The people are friendly and helpful. You don't need to speak Greek, a little English is fine. We go there a day or two early arriving from Athens to board our cruise ship. Piraeus is a lovely city. Almost next door is a new building with a bar looking out over the harbour. The property was spotless.
The property was spotless. The ower was suportive and offered the transfer to the international airport because there was taxi industrial action at the time. The appartment was very close to the sandy beach. And you may find a very nice bakery round the corner and many shops. My father was born here so my 1st cousins live here. I brought my husband and sons here to introduce them. I loved my stay here meeting up with them again and revisiting all the places I’d been to before and seeing how much things had changed. We stayed in the very comfortable harbor area of Aegina Town. Just a 40-minute ferry from Athens' Pireaus port. Ancient sites to visit. Lots of harbor restaurants for beverages and dining. A relaxing way to settle in from international travel before our extended tour of Athens and the Peloponnese tour. This is a beautiful island. The sea is warm and inviting. The beaches, although there is some sand, are very stony, and beach shoes are recommended. We went on a boat trip to navigate the island, taking a route that circled the entire island. It was a small boat and we were driving it ourselves. The day was slightly windy, and the sea we didn't realise was quite rough once you moved away from the beach. We only lasted one hour of the four-hour trip booked. It would have been better to have been warned that the sea would be rough, as we would have chosen another day for our trip. There are many boats, including sailing, charter, and private vessels, visiting Poros, making the port very busy. The boats were fascinating to watch. There are numerous excellent tavernas, and they are not expensive. They serve a variety of local dishes, including fresh seafood and traditional Greek cuisine. The boat transfer from Athens takes only one hour, and the ferry operator is very prompt. I recommend a visit to Poros.Guest review bySandraUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Rafina îs a nice place to stay if you eat to be close to the airport . We spent 2 nites and hired a car . This means you can drive to Rafina ( an EASY 25 min drive ) and the next day we drove back to the airport to take the tram into Monastraki Athens to go to Plaka etc and back to the airport ( 9Euro each way ) .This way no parking issues in Athens . a lovely quiet little villiabge, hugging the coastline with spectacular sunsets and beaches. Plenty of options for food and refreshments, and some shops for holiday essentials. Easy drive to the end of the island (Only really one road) to beautiful beaches with beach bars and loungers and easy parking.
