We had the loveliest time staying at this hotel! The room and the view were beyond our expectations and the warmth of the owners made our stay even better. The breakfast spread here is the best too! I looked forward to it every morning (don’t miss the cappuccino they make!) Giovanni, Rachele and Filippo all made sure we were well taken care of during our stay and were the perfect hosts! Would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to go to Positano (there’s a shuttle that easily takes you down to the central area during timed hours but you can also make a special request to book a specific time at a small cost).

Amalfi Coast highlights

Conca Dei Marini

Home to the Emerald Grotto, sea-lovers can snorkel in the crystalline waters, while foodies can savour Sfogliatella, a sweet shell-shaped pastry from the Convent of Santa Rosa.

‘Painted Village’ of Furore

Small but full of character, this stunning hillside town gets its other moniker from the colourful open-air museum of murals lining its bougainvillea-lined streets.

Romantic Ravello

While Annunziata Historic Building hosts recitals, Villa Rufolo also delights with spectacular views and concerts in its gorgeous gardens.

Handcrafted goods from the Amalfi Coast

The Amalfi Coast is a home to unique artisan products. Positano is known for its linen beachwear, while Maiori is where you can shop for handmade Gladiator leathersandals.

Natural caves of Praiano

Set in natural caves, revellers can head to Africana Famous Club and admire the shimmering waters below. Extravagant live performance and lobster dinners are also on offer.

The ceramics trail of Vietri sul Mare

While colourful ceramics can be admired up and down the Amalfi Coast, the traditions of the master ceramist are a closely guarded secret in this picturesque coastal town.

The fishing village and anchovy paradise of Cetara

Experts at preserving anchovies, trattorias here are known for their fresh homemade pasta with fermented anchovy essence Colatura di Alici, topped with crunchy pumpkin.

Lemony pastries at Piazza Cantilena

Sal de Riso Patisserie is perfect for people watching with some chilled lemon mousse, a zesty lemon sorbet, or a generous slice of pear and ricotta cake.

Historic Piazza del Duomo

The grand staircase at 9th-century Amalfi Cathedral is a must-see. Sample chocolate-covered orange candy overlooking the bougainvillea terraces and turquoise waters.

Sunbathing along the Amalfi Coast

Crystal clear waters and endless stretches of golden sands run from Duoglio Beach in Amalfi to Cavallo Morto Beach in Maiori, while the hidden Laurito Beach near Positano is wonderfully secluded.

FAQs about hotels in Amalfi Coast

A Feast For the Eyes

Comprised of brightly coloured villages cascading down sheer cliffs, the Amalfi Coast is on the opposite side of a peninsula from Sorrento. Between the UNESCO World Heritage-listed villages are lemon groves and winding roads hugging the coastline that are definitely not for the nervous driver!

In wonderful Positano, delicately positioned houses somehow manage to cling to the cliffs. The next village along is Praiano, on a flatter piece of land and with a 12th-century church. Furore in the hills above a fjord has its own winery.

Amalfi itself is picturesque, as it rises from the harbour to the top of its 13th-century cathedral. As the coast’s largest town, it has a good selection of bars, restaurants and accommodation. Adjoining it is Atrani, a fishing village with a dramatic, beachside road supported by arches.

High above is Ravello whose Villa Rufolo’s landscaped gardens offer magnificent panoramas of the coastline below. Due to its position, this town boasts the Amalfi Coast hotels with the best views and, of course, prices to match. Back at sea level Minori and Maiori have the longest beaches.

Due of all this splendor, you might struggle to find cheap Amalfi Coast hotels, but there is also a selection of affordable apartments and B&Bs on Booking.com, and in any case the fantastic views makes the price well worth it.

We had a great stay at this hotel! The location is absolutely perfect — central and convenient for everything we needed. The apartment was super clean and well-maintained, and the check-in and check-out process was very easy. The service overall was excellent — the staff were friendly, professional, and ready to help. There were just a couple of minor issues. The Wi-Fi in our apartment didn’t work properly, but when we reported it, the staff immediately offered us a room change. That kind of responsive service really made a positive impression. Also, the water in the shower drained very slowly, which was a bit uncomfortable. Aside from these small issues, everything else was perfect, and we would definitely stay here again!

It´s beautiful, no doubt.

It´s beautiful, no doubt. And I certainly rate it higher than Positano. But it´s so so busy, full of groups, and access is agonisingly slow, the infrastructure being inadequate for the amount of traffic. It feels like a place setup for tourists, which detracts from its natural beauty. I prefer the grittiness of Napoli, which for all its troubles, feels authentically Italian.

Love Positano, our second time visiting.

Love Positano, our second time visiting. However, very crowded in September and can be overwhelming. Great place for a few days, especially when planning to explore nearby towns, including Capri. One of our favorite restaurants that we returned to on this trip, which is still incredible is Donna Rosa, which is just up the hill from Positano.

Ravello is fantastic. So quiet - much preferable to Amalfi. Steep. Lots of walking. A lovely village by night with some great food. Mimis is just a fantastic restaurant with excellent an menu and wonderful staff. The meals are amazing! Several small shops which have all required if self catering. Walk the back streets. Such a photogenic town. Really pleasant in evenings when many return to Amalfi or to ferries.

Agerola is an area, we stayed in Bomerano. Great little village with a few nice eateries and cafes. Buses from Amalfi are reasonably frequent and reliable, buy your tickets in advance from tabacchi. It's fun on the bus up and down the mountain! Just be careful how far your stay is from the village centre if you are relying on buses.

Lots of ceramic shops selling almost the same items. many good restaurants within walking distance. Arrive by train then take the accensore (elevator) down to the town - the lift-well is lined with blue tiles and fish. Gorgeous. The ferry stops down at the bay and bus 68 takes you up to the town for 1.4euro. Buy the ticket from the ladies in the ceramic shop near the bus stop before you board and validate on the bus.

Praiano is a perfect place to stay on the Amalfi Coast.

Praiano is a perfect place to stay on the Amalfi Coast. Nice and quiet but with local shops and restaurants. One way on bus to Positano and other way to Amalfi in a short time, so very easy to reach all areas of Amalfi coast. The little local supermarket was perfect for buying supplies. A good range of restaurants in beautiful romantic settings overlooking the coast. The church is divine and the people are very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend Praiano for staying on the Amalfi Coast.

Minori is the perfect town to explore the Amalfi coast from.

Minori is the perfect town to explore the Amalfi coast from. It’s quiet with a nice beach and enough restaurants including a famous pastry shop. Lines for ferries are minimal. The path of lemons was stunning and we also took a taxi to Ravello and walked down to Atrani and Amalfi and then ferried home. Both these walks were beautiful. Even in October, Positano and Amalfi were crazy busy and heading back to Minori was a relief!

Perfect location for exploring the Amalfi Coast.

Perfect location for exploring the Amalfi Coast. Half an hour driving to Amalfi, half an hour driving to Positano. For hiking the "Path of gods" you start immediately at the residence. For getting to the "Fiordo" you descend the one thousand stairs just below the apartment. Small market shop and minimarket just near by. Also very good restaurants just near the house. Recommended
