We booked this site as travelling to see Dana and the amazing valleys. The hotel was amazing, traditional old rooms that were very comfortable, clean and warm. Clean toilet ensuites and very good price. Musa who runs the business was really friendly and spent hours chatting. Food was good and organised a fantastic trek for the family with amazing views with free donkey ride for kids at an outdoor open fire lunch.. This business also supports the local village and left over food given to local families. Worth staying to even support the local communities. Will definitely stay again.

Great find! Very new, super comfortable, great shower and comfy bed. CLose to Petra entrance (strongly suggest you drive as the walk back would all be uphill). They made us a great take away breakfast since we left early. Also a differentiator is that this hotel is very close to several good restaurants, and importantly you can walk as its all level ground, Highly recommend. Staff is great and helpful

Well, I got a free upgrade to the royal suite! What’s not to like! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Dinner and breakfast were very extensive and delicious. The location is very remote, but beautyful and quiet.

Petra Castle is an excellent hotel. The rooms are large and the service is excellent. It's located just outside Petra. By car it's only a few minutes away from the city center. The breakfast is a choice of both Jordanian and continental. The same counts for dinner: very good and a variety of Jordanian and 'western' dishes. The staff is excellent: friendly and offers great service. The Jordanian hospitality!

The entire camp is incredible with beautiful nature around it. Everything is really close, and Little Petra is just 10 minutes walk. What really left the impression on me and my friend was the host who was extremely nice and helped us to stay even though we boked the wrong room and the one we wanted was already taken. Mohammed is the nicest guy and he always made sure we feel welcomed and like home. This our second time here and we will definitely recommend it anyone and cannot wait to come back again! Cheers!

Stay here - not in Dana. Absolutely beautiful surroundings. My friends chose to stay here during the day and hike the trails accessible from the campsite while I hiked Wadi Dana trail - an excellent option that requires less logistical coordination and more time to enjoy what's right there, including the delicious food. The Rummana Campsite staff are all so sweet - we really enjoyed talking with them and learning from them.

This is a must visit place.

This is a must visit place. The natural beauty, Petra and rest of the nabatean ruins are out of the world. trek to the monastery is worth the effort. It will be uncomfortable in summer You need to spend at least two days. Petra at night is the most amazing experience. The views from Petra to wadi Rum is spectacular. Absolutely on everyone’s bucket list Food, Jordanian people and hospitality is wonderful. It is a safe place!!!

Probably my rating or comment is not suitable for every travelers as foreigner but living in Jordan for long time. Definitely, I need 5 star hotels in Dead Sea or Aqaba to refresh myself and my family regularly. But Dana is a great place to also have regular visit as it is located within 2.5 hours range from my home in Amman, and to experience this great nature in reasonable expense. After over 10 years of staying in this country, as a person like to sleep under the millions of stars, Dana is most frequently visited location at the recent years of my life in Jordan.

we have encountered fraudulent behavior on the part of the accommodation operator. after making the reservation via "booking.com" we arrived to the location - meeting with the resort representative "Ahmad" we were taken to another camp resort ( very old, nor matching the pictures during the booking, empty ) being told that the other "camp" is full... but 1 room could still be found - as long as we're happy to pay double price. We accepted as we're in the middle of desert. But this was clearly deliberate fraudulent conduct. Our recommendation would be for Booking.com not to keep contractual relationship with such accommodation providers.

The village has been abandoned and then rebuilt as a hotel. It sits above a valley and has a stunning view that goes all the way to the Dead Sea. The very friendly Musaad made sure that everyone felt welcome and helped. He also set up a guide for our trip to the nearby Sela' fortress, which is a very interesting Nabataean site. A beautiful spot away from the crowds of tourists, a chance to see the real Jordan.

Fantastic staff, friendly and welcoming, happy to offer u an upgrade if possible, food was lovely, views were epic, we stayed in dome with the en suite bathroom, it was just Great..we were sad to stay just one night and wish we could stay longer. It was only a short drive to Petra . Would definitely recommend.

The reserve is beautiful.

The reserve is beautiful. We spent 3 days hiking and hardly saw any other people. Amazing colors and sweeping vistas. Definitely go with a knowledgeable guide to get the best experience. Stay at the Jabal Dana Hotel for great views and amazing food.

Pay attention to the weather conditions depending on the time of year. We had to abandon the hike due to heavy rain 3 days before (end of February/beginning of March). Our host recommended doing this hike after March 15 and ideally in May.

Great location right next to little Petra and 5 minutes from Petra. Suggest you take a car to the top (Rear) of Petra and enter near the monastery then walk down hill towards the entrance as it is a big day of walking. Hotel has lovely staff and very helpful. Every night was a large outdoor fire with tea service and music while the hills had lights on them for great photos. Suggest spending two nights in this hotel min maybe 3-4 nights to experience all the surround areas.
