Absolutely stunning, private, peaceful and relaxing. Our whole stay at Blue Water was perfect, the cabanas are cute, clean and spacious for couples. We couldn’t fault anything. We stayed for my 40th birthday and the team decorated our room, what a lovely surprise on entry. Although there is no air conditioning, the fans in the room are sufficient and the cabanas are designed well with openings for a breeze. Rinos is amazing, he was so attentive and looked after all of our needs. He’s really friendly, a pleasure to meet and an excellent chef. Sudha and Dinosan are both phenomenal, they make sure the whole area around the cabanas are pristine, they take so much pride and leave patterns in the sand for guests. There is a good variety of food, the fresh juices are so tasty. We had breakfast and dinner most days and Rinos catered for our tastes. The beach is private and only a few steps away, most days we were the only ones there, it is paradise. At night we fell asleep to the sound of the waves. Thank you Blue Water you made our stay unforgettable.

I am incredibly impressed with the outstanding customer service at this establishment. While traveling for work, I had to take public transport and required a very late check-in at 4 AM. Many other places either refused me or tried to charge for two full days, even though I was only staying for a few hours. In a last-minute decision right before boarding my bus, I booked this hotel and explained my situation. To my relief, they immediately agreed to my request without any hesitation or additional fees. When I arrived in the early hours of the morning, everything was perfectly prepared for me. The place itself is lovely, with a unique touch: each room has its own private outdoor seating area complete with a sofa, table, and even a ceiling fan. On top of all that, the location is fantastic, right in the heart of town, making everything easily accessible by foot. I can't recommend this place enough, especially for their wonderful hospitality!

From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making me feel right at home. The rooms are exceptionally clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, providing a perfect sanctuary after a day of exploring. Our stay at Beach Wave Guesthouse in a bungalow was amazing. So it deserves a 3 rating. It has been the best accomodation in Sri Lanka and Silmir is truly the best host you could think of Silmir will help with everything you need (from surf lessons to scooter rental). Rooms super clean with great mosquito net over the bed. Spacious and clean bathrooms. Great terrace with chairs and table + nice hammock in front of each bungelow. Nice garden and everything looks beautiful. Only short walk to nice restaurants and shops. Often super nice cake from Mohammed's mum. Thanks so much Silmir for this great experience. We can highly recommend you and your place

I had a great stay at Seaware Flowers. The place was very nice with spacious rooms and good amenities that made the stay comfortable. One of the best things was its location ,right in the center of Arugambay, with easy access to the beach and just a short walk to all the popular restaurants and cafés. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a convenient and relaxing stay in Arugambay.

The room is big and comfortable, very clean. The stuff cleans the shared areas every day. The stuff is very nice and polit! The hotel is the closest to the ocean - I can literally here the ocean from my hammock, there is a private hammock for every room! I used the laundry service it was good, also fair price (compare to the town). There is an A/C in the room. Its not too close to the city - and not too far, every thing is so close so you can get there by 2 minutes. and I like that distance! So you don't here the parties and firework during the night. WiFi was good and a digital nomad and I could work from the room - there is also a table for the computer!

The hotel is in a peaceful area, 1 minute away from the beach. It's in a quiet area and at the same time close to different cafes, bars and parties. The room was very clean. The hotel has a small garden and it looks peaceful. Rifai, the owner of the hotel is incredibly kind and accommodating. He went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. I truly appreciated his hospitality, and desire to help: find a surf-instructor, book a bus, etc. The breakfasts were really delicious. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for an enjoyable stay.

We had a wonderful day at Aprota Villas. The property is stunning and incredibly peaceful. The entire space feels thoughtfully maintained from the gardens to the rooms. The rooms were spacious, spotless and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The Wi-Fi worked very well throughout our stay, and it is not too far from the hotel to the surfing sites that made it so easy to explore the area. The staff were incredibly helpful, always ready to assist with a smile.

There are a variety of accommodations at beach hut but all our creatively done, whimsical, and beautiful. I was in the simplest hut and it was exactly what I wanted... sleeping with the sound of the waves in a leafy garden. The location is the best possible and the staff were wonderful. I was there in low season so was almost alone but I'm sure the buzz is great there when it's full.

Everything was amazing. Hassan the host is the best. We booked the place at the last minute and we were able to check in right away. Hassan made sure we have everything all the time and even after we left. The location is great right on the beach. Perfect place to relax. Super clean and great service. Would definitely come again. Highly recommend, best hotel in all Sri Lanka.

You are more likely to meet a European than a local here.

You are more likely to meet a European than a local here. This is definately not a reflection on Sri Lankan culture, however the beach town is slow and quiet (realtively speaking) and there are plenty of shops and restaurants. And of coure, the surf is consistent and the water warm. It's a winner for a beach holiday.

The best feature of Arugam Bay is the surrounding jungle, lakes and lagoons. The main beach is very busy but other beaches, such as Peanut Farm are less crowded, Do thye Lagoon Safari and a park safari but also try surfing and relaxing on the beach.
