Super kind hosts, they were so attentive. They made us dinner even though we arrived late, they even got up at 5am to make us breakfast to bring with us on our safari. Location was great as we’re close to the safari. The room was comfortable and everything we needed. Would definitely recommend staying here!!

I loved every bit of this place, the room and bathroom are so cool, new and comfortable, the staff is very friendly, loving and helpful. Breakfast was also very good. The place overall is so relaxing! It's closeby to Sigiriya and Dambulla so it is a good place to stay while visiting those too... I really hope to come back and stay more next time.

I stayed at this accommodation for two nights and really enjoyed my stay. The owner is very nice and gave me a lot of support in planning the journey to and from the hotel. He also planned the safari for me. This was a great experience as the guide had a lot of knowledge. Another highlight was the dinner. The room was perfectly fine for the two nights. The room was very clean. I can highly recommend this accommodation.

This hotel is the most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed in. Interior design is very stylish and has several personal touches which the lovely owners will walk you through. Everything was very clean and functioning. Food is cooked to your liking and served on time. Throughout the stay the staff is attentive and service is excellent. We like to chitchat a bit, and the staff has perfect English skills. Few rooms available, so it feels like renting an entire luxurious villa for yourself. Even if not planning to go to Anuradhapura, I would go simply to enjoy this hotel. (If you can even call it a hotel. Feels like being invited into a celebrity’s private mansion!).

We spent two nights in Anuradhapura and had the best time. Sapumal Lodge helped us book a day tour with a guide to see both the old and the new city. The guide provided us with a lot of information. We had the best day! The room was very clean and neat. The hotel let us use the washing and drying machine for free, which was really convenient. We definitely recommend this place!

I don't know where to start. The bungalow we had was meticulously clean, comfortable and tastefully designed. It is set in a wonderfully cared garden with all kind of trees, where you can see a lot of birds and other animals, incl. giant squirrel, gray hornbills. Breakfast and dinner were delicious with local specialties. We also joined the cooking class and learned a lot of dishes from the owner of the accommodation. The owner is a very charismatic and open hearted lady, who had many tips and information and was organising all our tours and answering to all our requests in a very friendly manner and immediate action. She is very hands on, kind and helpful. We had a wonderful time staying there and will for sure come back again. We recommend this accommodation from the bottom of our hearts. It was the best experience in Sri Lanka so far. බෝහම ස්තුති

The owner gave me very accurate advice for every circumstance:) the family is very nice, feel very cozy staying there. Every offer, such as accommodation cost, Tuktuk fee going around ancient city, taxi from airport, are very reasonable that is well-considered for tourist to spend not too much money. The place is way beyond every expectation and the hosts are the most amazing couple we could ever meet! I would need an entire book to list everything that impressed us positively. The accomodation is really cozy and super comfortable and the setting is magical, really quiet and immerse in nature. The breakfast, all home made, was delicious and Dammika was incredibly kind to come and pick us up at the train station. Will never recommend this place enough, I’m so thankful! Can’t wait to come back

The welcome and the service that we received were exceptional - unrivalled by any other hotel visited during three weeks in Sri Lanka. The staff were genuinely happy that we were their guest, and they were not afraid to show it. From the moment we arrived, they did everything and more to make sure that we were comfortable. The central courtyard garden lent the hotel an idyllic cosy community feel and allowed us to feel nicely isolated from the bustle of the streets outside. The pool area was scenic, the pool functional, and there were a bunch of sun beds from which to capture the sun as it moved above the tree line. One of us fell ill during our stay. The manager offered to take us to the hospital, assisted us there, and the entire team attended to us tirelessly day after day - including complimentary afternoon tea in our room. Bicycles were available to borrow to get around and see the various fascinating heritage sites - and we'd really recommend using them! Breakfast was predominantly Euro-continental, incredibly generous, and tastier than anything else we had in Sri Lanka outside of 5* hotels. Dinner was tasty too. The menu was diverse and competitively priced. Table service was exquisite. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and secure. The location was great - perfectly situated for exploring town, set back from the road so as to be silent at night, and with quick access to the lake on foot. A beautiful gaggle of peacocks graces the gardens. The hotel arranged our onward travel to Trincomalee in a comfortable car at a competitive price.

It was perfect in every way and we had a great time. We had an extremely varied and plentiful breakfast every day, so much that we couldn't even handle it :) We had great and helpful staff at our disposal at all hours of the day. They tried their best to meet all our requests and help us to have a carefree stay. Several times we had dinner at the accommodation, leaving it up to them to decide what to have and we did not regret it as they always surprised us with extremely delicious flavours. A real romantic accommodation in the woods awaited us with a superbly equipped room with everything from a hairdryer to a fridge. We especially liked the bathroom with the roof half open :) The beds were comfortable and very well protected with mosquito nets. The swimming pool was always usable, you just had to ask for it if you wanted to swim a bit at night.We rented a car to go around the area but it was no problem as we could park in the courtyard every day. The centre of the cultural triangle where everything is easily accessible. Special thanks to the manager for trying to meet all our requests!Thank you for a carefree stay and we hope to see you soon!

The hotel Heritage in Anuradhapura was located in a very calm and serine environment facing the lake. The hotel premises was well maintained. The friendly service rendered by the hotel staff was beyond our expectations. Our room was clean tidy and spacious. Foods were very fresh and delicious. Mr.Hemantha, the FMB manager welcomed us to the restaurant in a great manner. The way he handled the restaurant staff in order to provide an effective service to the guests was admirable. The CEO, Mr.Sumith Wijesinghe was very friendly and supportive. We witnessed how he personally paid attention to guests by going round tables during meal times and speaking to them very cheerfully. Music at the lake side dinner was amazing. Highly appreciate the efficient service rendered by the hotel under the guidance and supervision of Mr.Wijesinghe. Highly recommend the Hotel Heritage. Hope to stay there again in our next visit to Anuradhapura.

During my stay, the property owner made several inappropriate and judgmental comments about my affordability and my decision to share meals with my mother, who is disabled. His behaviour was rude and discriminatory. After I posted my review describing my disappointment, the owner contacted me directly on my personal mobile number using very abusive and offensive language. This message was completely unacceptable and made me feel unsafe.

We loved our Homestay chez Olivia . Lovely couple very hospitable and helpful. Hired bikes which was wonderful to go see all the Stupa sites etc. beautiful area & lovely garden. Birdlife was fabulous. Highly recommend

Good location to visit the National parks where Elephants roam. Take a short drive to Ritigala and be amazed at the heritage site of a millenia old large forest monastery. Dine at the Ran Rasa restaurant for one of the best Chicken Koththus you will taste..

Anuradhapura is an amazing and spiritual place.

Anuradhapura is an amazing and spiritual place. It's different from the other sites in Sri Lanka because it still attracts so many pilgrims to its religious sites. It's a good idea to dedicate one day to visiting the active pilgrimage sites and the next to the historical sites, for which you need a ticket. Remember to cover up with long trousers and sleeves and don't forget your socks, because the ground is really hot and you have to take off your shoes everywhere. If you have an extra day, you can also return to the sites at night, which is when pilgrims light candles. Make sure you've got the Pick Me app installed and look out for a tuk tuk driver called Nisha. He's absolutely amazing: great driver, kind and attentive and with good English. For dinner, the atmospheric Hotel Shalini is a good bet. The Seedevi family restaurant is another good place. If you want to have a beer, they can put you in a separate 'family' room, or you can go to the tiny 'pub' next door.

Beautiful jungle surrounds. Lots of activities. Safari doesn't tell you about all the extra costs involved. Entry fee big. Tip for animal spotter. The Harabana lake cruise is brilliant. No motor just a gentle paddle, allowing you get up close to wildlife
