Kavy, the manager, was very approachable and gave us good advice about transport. (For example, when we inquired about a taxi ride to Souillac, not only did he oblige and hired a cab for us, but it was a new Mercedes and the price lower than expected). The breakfast were delicious and magnificent, and something to look forward to. We picked the large room, which is very spacious and bright, and in our opinion well worth the little extra. There is a handy cafe/restaurant just 10 or so metres across the entrance to Hello Guesthouse, where we ate our dinners. The guesthouse is located in walking distance to the metro station, buses, bank and the local market. The hotel exceeded our expectations and is excellent value. It is in an amazing location access to basically everywhere and everything you might need. There is a mall not far from there has KFC, MC, Nandos you name it... It took my two days to explore Port Louis. I enjoyed very much the look from the top of the mountain in Port Louis and the waterfront even though the prices at the waterfront are high. We hired a taxi to take us up to the Citadel and around the city. It has some interesting colonial buildings. We arrived at Port Louis at the end of our cruise - the apartment was not far from the port. I had the pleasure of staying at the Champs De Mars Apartment during my recent short visit to Mauritius, and I can't say enough good things about it! From the moment I stepped inside, I was captivated by the charming and cozy atmosphere that this apartment offers. First and foremost, the location is fantastic. Situated right next to the iconic Champs De Mars Racecourse, the apartment offers stunning views and a unique atmosphere that you won't find anywhere else on the island. It's also conveniently located near shops, restaurants, and public transportation, making it easy to explore all that Mauritius has to offer. Moreover, the apartment's security was excellent. The apartment itself is impeccably clean, well-maintained, and beautifully decorated. The interior design is tasteful and modern, providing a welcoming and homely ambiance. The spacious living area is perfect for relaxation and entertaining, and the kitchen is fully equipped with all the amenities you need to prepare your own meals if you wish. One of the highlights of the Champs De Mars Apartment is the balcony, which overlooks the racecourse. The breathtaking views of the races and the lush greenery are truly a unique experience that adds a special touch to your stay. The host, Adam is incredibly accommodating and friendly, always ready to assist with any questions or requests you may have.
