Rutete Eco Lodge is a great place to stay to discover the eastern region of Rwanda. The entrance of Akagera Park is at 20 minutes, which is nice for early safaris. The rooms are big, the bedding is comfortable. The common spaces are lovely decorated, the diner and breakfast were great, and the owner is so kind ! It was a pleasure to spend some time talking to her :) Do not hesitate to book in Rutete, one of the best hotels I've been to during my 2 weeks of holidays in Rwanda

The service was impeccable. The rooms were rustic but beautiful. High end glamping. Food was delicious. To date, the most unique place I have stayed. Will book again on subsequent trips to Rwanda.

The owner and his employee were among the most friendly people we have ever met. Owner got us local Bbeer, so much food for dinner and breakfast. Fantastic! We definitely recommend this place!

Short drive away from Akagera (South Gate). Lovely garden, the staff is the greatest asset as they are very nice, flexible and accommodating. The food is great: very fresh, abundant and delicious. Highly recommended - we liked it so much that we also stayed there on our way back from Akagera.

Very spacious room with an incredible view of Ihema lake. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. And Monique is an excellent chef. Great location for visiting Akagera park.

I cannot even express the gratitude I have for people and this place! They went above and beyond, do not hesitate to stay here, dont bother looking anywhere else, this is the place to stay, the rooms are immaculate, they washed our clothes, prepared our food which tasted phenomenal, I dream about the tilapia! They went all out for my husbands birthday, arranged for halal meat! Wow! Couldn't believe it! Best hotel ive ever stayed in, truly and I have travelled the world, they even organised our tour for the national park, exceptional! Will definitely be back and recommend to everyone! the property is secluded and within a rural part of Rwanda and is simply magical. 1 day is simply not enough time, i recommend a min. 2 day stay so you can really rest and enjoy the property. there’s lots of nature around you and a lot of activities you can do like kayaking, massage, a community walk and bird watching so there’s plenty that you can do while also ensuring you relax. the food was really amazing, especially the communal dinner, the bed was super comfortable and there was plenty of hot water! honestly there’s nothing to fault - it was the perfect stay.
