Nice quiet location, clean room, comfy bed, and fridge stocked with water. The hotel manager (Cam or Gam, not sure how to spell) was the best! She took great care of us and would ask us if we needed anything and come through every time. At nights she invited us to hang out and have beers with with her and her friends. What a wonderful resort! We had a Family Room and Mountain Cottage. Views from the rooms, breakfast, dinner, and everywhere we amazing. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, including airport pickup and a one day tour of the Doi Tung area by van. They even took us to the Hill Tribes coffee shop (same owner) about 15 minutes away which had more wonderful views. Excellent food, varied menu, plenty to do. A perfectly quiet and relaxing get-away with immersion in nature but very comfortable.

Stunning place! Magical sunset view from private balcony of my suite! Clean, spacious, well decorated room, super clean, comfortable bed and pillows, great facilities, best body massage ever and most of all very friendly and helpful staff! The reception staff, the restaurant staff and their manager Lissa made me feel like I stay with family. Don't think about it, just book it and enjoy this place :-)

My highlight was the Hill tribe trek. The guide was excellent. I learnt a lot about the people, lifestyle and customs of the local people. Coming from the city, it made me appreciate the basics in life such as preparing lunch with bamboo and banana leaves.

I ❤️ Mae Salong. The clean crisp air and many local ethnic groups make this a great place to visit Love staying at Shin Sane GH or Little House GH. Each still offer great prices for cottages and Shin Sane still has the original rooms from wooden house and at a shoestring price for this region Love eating at Yunnan noodles down the road a bit past 7 Eleven and Salima’s. There’s a pure veg place heading towards the cathothic school nearby.

Very laid-back city.

Very laid-back city. Many adventures to be had in the area around like tea plantations, Golden Triangle, and the local temples. However, the city itself is really very nice. So many good restaurant options - in fact too many to choose from. We will need to come back and explore further on the next visit.

Acceptable for one night. You need a car to get to the hotel. The rooms are not soundproof. Quite loud from the traffic. The hotel is located directly on the main street. The breakfast is not bad and with good coffee to make yourself with a coffee machine.

I wasn’t sure about taking the extra trip to Chiang Rai but it was so worth it. It’s a more relaxed vibe than Chiang Mai. It feels very authentically Thailand with beautiful scenery. There’s lots to explore close by and compared to anywhere else I’ve travelled in Thailand I found it cheaper. There’s a great Saturday night market where lots of the locals come together for food, music and dancing.

I liked to have riverview.

I liked to have riverview. We had two single beds that we rearranged such that they were mire close to eachother. Not perfect but ok. For one person the bed was too hard, for the other it was good. Was great to be on the (small) balcony to look at the river, but there were no seats. I used the pool, but at the time of the day the two high building on the side avoided all sunshine to warm up the water. We also had to use our own towels from the room, one per person. Checkout was fast without checking the room. Few hours after we left, we were in Chiang Rai already, staff called us that they we left behind a watch. They agreed to send it to our home in Chiang Mai. Great service that we really appreciate.

The shower head was to 50% clogged, and the water was deflected sideways splashing all over. This was the case in both the rooms I had booked! The TV remote control did not work, as the batteries inside were corroded and bloated badly.
