Amanzimtoti is a gem on the KwaZulu-Natal coast—perfect for anyone looking to unwind while still having access to plenty of things to do. The beaches are absolutely beautiful: clean, family-friendly, and great for swimming or just relaxing. Watching the sunrise over the ocean is a must! There’s a good mix of restaurants, local shops, and malls nearby, making it easy to find what you need without traveling far. The area feels safe and has a welcoming, laid-back atmosphere. It’s also a convenient base for exploring Durban and surrounding areas, while still enjoying a quieter, more relaxed setting. Whether you're traveling as a couple, with family, or solo, Amanzimtoti has something to offer. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a peaceful seaside break with a local touch.Guest review byAnonymous - 10

We enjoyed exploring the town and the beach.
We enjoyed exploring the town and the beach. The cottage was just right for us but the narrow stairs were challenging. We used the upstairs 'verandah ' to make the most of the Seaview and the braai. Favorite place was the restaurant in the caravan park; ideal for breakfast and watching the whales. The take away fish and chips from the Corner Fish and Chips was the best value for money. Next time I will avoid staircases.Guest review byMaurelSouth Africa - 10
It was my first time in Shelly Beach.
It was my first time in Shelly Beach. My fiancé has been there many times. That's why he suggested it. As we were there for his vacation from work. I would highly recommend the area as it is really beautiful there. Most of the people are friendly and we made new friends so easily.Guest review byLeonéSouth Africa - 10

While we are not so young anymore, we have known Southbroom from days of old, when the road took us through Michael - on -Sea, Manaba Beach, etc. It caters well for all ages. So close to the Wild Coast, Crocodile Farm.Guest review byNtshangase - 4.0

Proper information should be clearly visible on the beach to warn holiday goers of the threat of E-Coli and that people may get sick. Uvongo to stay in is great as it is centrally located, but if you are a beach lover, rather go to any of the other beaches south of Ramsgate.Guest review byIzane MeijerSouth Africa - 4.0
