I can't say enough about this place. My experience was absolutely amazing. Chunga Changa is located in a small quiet road so you can have privacy and peace. The beach is just 10 minutes within walking distance. The room is spacious, clean and well decorated with rustic decors. The host, Sabrina, went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. Definitely try the food there as well as they are affordable and delicious. Totally recommend!

It’s beautifully decorated, extremely clean and the staff are sweet and very friendly. They decorated our room for our honeymoon and we even received a free bottle of champagne. The pool was always clean and the facilities around it as well. You’re very short walk from the beach and can walk to local shops if you seek some variety . We had a problem with our water but that was fixed once we had brought up the problem with management. Overall I have nothing to fault them for. Thanks again for the lovely service.

Everything at Kiganja was exceptional and exceeded our expectations. Rooms are comfy, clean and spacious. Breakfast is very generous and it easily fulls you up till late afternoon. We didn't need lunch services, but we ate there our dinner every evening - the food is delicious and prices are comparable to other restaurants. A'la carte or special daily menues, everything was very tasty. The host, Georgia, is so friendly and helpful, she was always going one step further with our kids and they loved playing in the sand around the pool. Pool area is like an oasis, full of plants and trees, offering shaddow from the sun - defenetely more green that on the pictures and also the dining area has much more character than shown on booking.com. We loved any minute of our stay.

I did a huge amount of research before booking this particular property and we were not disappointed at all. It is NOT like staying in a hotel, it is more like being invited to stay at a family house with friends who have exceptional staff providing for you and them. Maxi and Milia are Italian and their home reflects this, as well as their approach with guests, and we found them to be excellent hosts, who will chat with you and help you any way they can in a way I have never experienced in a 'brand' hotel, ever. One of the reviews I saw suggested that Italian guests were better treated - we are English and were treated wonderfully, by absolutely everyone. Another review said the food service was slow because they were not guests of the property, they are completely missing the point, and the style of Zanzibar. I cannot recommend this property enough. The hosts and staff provide a (much quieter than average) place to stay in Zanzibar where you can do as little as you wish, or as much as you want, because your hosts will gladly organise trips with their drivers and cars like they did for us.

Our stay at Matemwe Ocean View Villas was perfect, we enjoy it to the end. The villa’s location is great and only few minutes walk to the beach where you can have view of Mnemba Island. If you are looking for an adventure, the only thing which you need is to get in touch with Ney or Alusin. They have connections for any activity you wish. They arrange a Mnemba island tour for us. What’s more, Ney arranged a private appointment for me to have African braid hair style, the hair stylists came to our villa garden. The garden is beautiful and the villa has big living room, a kitchen and is decorated in African style. Large, clean pool boost our mood in the mornings. Ney and Alusin are very friendly, we enjoyed talking with them a lot. And we we’re lucky enough to have a chance to have their home-made lunch. The breakfast is just delicious with good choice of fresh fruits. We will definitely come back here anytime we visited Zanzibar.

Villa de Victor is a superb property located on Matemwe Beach. The staff and owners are super friendly and give good local advice. Nema is the star of the property and she's always there for whatever you need.

Fantastic villa that hosted 2 families of 4 people. Beautiful beach right off the property, quiet off the beaten track, great house staff, fantastic breakfast, lovely pool and other meals, daily housekeeping and laundry. Massage next door. They helped arrange local tours.

- View was breathtaking. The infinity pool overlooking the ocean was spectacular. The garden and the terrace outside the house were outstanding! Everything was also clean and in good order. - The house itself was spacious and well-kept. The rooms were beautiful, the kitchen well-equipped and the furniture all over was comfortable and in good shape. Toilets were also comfortable and regularly cleaned. - Food was excellent in all meals. The chef really knows his seafood! - On top of that, the staff were amazing. The house manager was very helpful. The ladies in the staff team were outstanding and super friendly. Smiles in every greeting and very warm attitude throughout the stay. A special thank to Latifa and Dolores for making our stay memorable.
