The Hotel Antiche Terme is a quiet, charming, smaller, well equipped hotel situated on the Calore River, with excellent views of the countryside while being central to the historic district. My room was very large, with ten-foot ceiings and brand new wood floors. My bed was the way I like it, firm with a little bit of cushion. My room had a desk, a minibar, and plenty of lighting. Smart TV. My balcony view was of the river and a beautiful bridge, the city and the countryside. If you like a great views, make sure you book it with the river view. The bathroom is very nice, with an awesome shower. Good wifi. Garbriele is an excellent host and manager, his staff did a wonderful job cleaning my room daily. He was very helpful with local information. Breakfast offers all the coffees and baked goods you can hope for. It is easy to walk all around the old section of Benevento from the hotel, as you are near all of the great sites. Benevento is a true gem, and the Hotel Antiche Terme is part of that, situated as it is on top of an ancient Roman bath complex. I will stay here again.

Lots of historical sites in Benevento, an often overlooked destination. The downtown center is very clean and seems brand new, due to the fact that it was heavily bombed during WWII and then rebuilt. There is an incredible Roman theater there along with a Lombard church from 700 BC, also the Arch of Trajan, one of the best preserved Roman structures in Italy. There's also a very interesting Samnite museum, Museo del Sannio. Lots to see. And good restaurants as well including Il Posto and Rosetta al Arco. Everything is closeby and easily walkable.

Apart from the Teatro Romano there is an interesting old town which is easily walkable. It is also a ggod base for exploring the area of the historic sites to the North of Napoli, such as the amphitheatre at Caserta. There are a small number of restaurants, but of good quality serving typical cuisine.

Benevento is a city and comune of Campania, Italy, capital of the province of Benevento, 50 kilometres northeast of Naples. It is situated on a hill 130 metres above sea level at the confluence of the Calore Irpino and the Sabato. In 2020, Benevento has 58,418 inhabitants. It is also the seat of a Catholic archbishop. The city is calm and quiet, offering bars and excellent restaurants, one of which I go to every time; Pampanini, probably the best one in town (in my opinion).

We loved that Benevento had lots of cool little streets and ruins to explore. It's people are very friendly towards tourists and although not much English is spoken (as in larger centres) we found it easy to get by with our limited Italian vocabulary. Lastly, Stregga, the local liquor is ONLY made in Benevento and it is lovely! You'll see it in desserts and gelato in town....yummy. If you're looking for a couple of days in a relaxing, fresh and charming village - think of Benevento.

I would only recommend it for a one night stay over.
I would only recommend it for a one night stay over. That is why we stayed there. It was incredibly hot in June and literally everything was closed and no one, I mean not one person was on the street during the day. No one came out until after 7pm. Lots of graffiti everywhere, very dirty city. Nothing much to see there.

Lots to explore in a small historical center.
Lots to explore in a small historical center. Not to be missed: the Roman amphitheater, the Cathedral and crypt (bombed in WWII and reconstructed during which they excavated and found ancient buildings), St. Sophia an 8th century church), Arco Museo - contemporary exhibit and goddess Isis artifacts, and arch of Trajan.
The main road provides a nice place to walk and stop for a drink and watch the parade of humanity pass by. Also note the recycling of building materials. The city was sacked many times and they just reused what they could find.
This is a cute little hotel in the middle of Benevento. We stayed for one night last minute on our road trip south. A little tricky to navigate to in a car but once you get your bearings in the tight streets you are fine. Hotel Itself is in a great location, you can walk to shops and restaurants etc. The owners are so lovely and the breakfast a nice basic inclusion, owner makes a great coffee.
Location was good for our needs--very close to the main cathedral. Breakfast was typical Italian continental--some baked good, juice, and a coffewmaker in a central area, plus a coupon for a coffee and baked item at a nearby cafe. Comfortable room and good WiFi at a good price. There was free parking behind (do not park in hotel lot but the one to the left) but one should tip the attendant.
Very nice place right in the historical centre of the city. Big room with a kitchenette, comfy large bed, TV with subscriptions and a full breakfast in the room. Beautifully remodeled bathroom. The hosts were very helpful, they provided useful information before my arrival and they were there to greet me and show me around. Next time in Benevento I'm staying there again!
We stopped in Benevento because it was half way between Rome and Ostuni.
We reserved dinner at the property as we knew we would arrive late. Gina was very welcoming and looked after our every need. We had a nice chat and a good laugh together during our stay.
The wine they serve is from their own production and very good.
This family-run business is worth a visit!
The B&B was perfectly located for our (family of 4) 1-night exploration of Benevento. Situated in a calm corner within the ancient city walls, close to a public parking opportunity and a nice bakery, it allowed us to explore the nearby Roman theatre as well as the wider city centre. The small ground-level apartment is well-equipped for a simple, short stay.
This room was beautiful. Being English the novelty to the pool in the room was amazing. The room was super clean and big. Fully stocked coffee machine and a Fridge. On the ground flood so no stairs. I just loved everything about this room. Pretty much in the town centre but super quiet.
I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay in Benevento.
Lovely place located an easy 15 minute walk to central Benevento
Private off-street gated parking
Clean, comfortable room with ensuite bathroom
Good communication and checking process with host.
Italian (sweet) breakfast included.
Shared kitchen and fridge could be used by guests.
The room is very big and very comfortable. We only spent 1nt but it was a great location very close to central Benevento, easy parking and nice breakfast croissants in the morning. The bed was a proper American King size and while firm was comfortable.
Lucia’s home was warm, beautiful and we felt at home. The beds were very comfortable and the location was in the heart of Benevento. Easy to walk to stores and restaurants. Lucia is so wonderful, we felt like she was family.
Very friendly proprietor. Nice place for a quick stop in Benevento. Due to Covid, Breakfast was a few doors down and was quick and delicious. There is a coffee maker in the lobby and also a place to sit and hang out.
Great location and gated property with adequate parking. The host was very helpful telling us sites to see in Benevento and the different shopping areas and places to eat.
