We arrived earlier, but that wasn't a problem and host came to bring keys and to show the place. We could communicate smooth - we could communicate via whatsapp and although it was weekend, host called back and came to solve the problems. Host spoke English language. Host made a lot of effort to make our stay superb :)

It’s a modern house, very new and fresh, situated close to the ocean, not far from the town of Esposende, so there is no problem with stores or services.
The host is plain awesome - very kind, responsive and helpful.

This is in a stunning and unique location and is a clean modern hotel. My colleague and I ate there twice and the food was very good and excellent value. The staff were friendly and attentive.

This resort in Esposende faces the Cávado River and is 200 metres from the Atlantic Ocean. It offers an outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts and a gym. Free parking is available.
Fao is small city but you can find all things you need for...
Fao is small city but you can find all things you need for holiday stay: clean beach, shops, restaurants etc.
Anyway if you need more (e.g. indoor swimming pool, more shops or restaurants bikes rental company) you can go to Esposende, app. 2 km from Fao.
The only problem is you need car to visit other sites in northern Portugal (Porto, Guimares, Douro valley etc.) It would be very difficult and expensive to visit all of them using local busses or trains.
Fortunatelly you can rent the car in Porto airport.
