Portland is a walkable city. Too many wonderful restaurants for one trip!
My favorites from this trip: Fore Street Restaurant, Honey Paw, and Jing Yan. My husband loved Bar Futo and the bar at Via Vecchia.

We live in Massachusetts, but we love visiting Maine.
We live in Massachusetts, but we love visiting Maine. We usually stop at the Kittery Trading Post along our drive. In Portland we like to take in historical homes and sites like the Victorian Mansion or the Henry Wadsworth Longfellow home. There are lots of restaurants and pubs in the waterfront area. One of our favorites is the Ri' Ra' where I typically enjoy a Guinness with the fish and chips.

My work in Portland shows me a diverse striving community that is trying to care for its citizens. That diversity is revealed through exploring the shops underneath and around the "Hopeful" sculpture/sign on Forest Ave.

Best seafood ever.
Best seafood ever. Very nice restaurants and bars and excellent, friendly service in all places. Nice little interior or similar shops. Some more or less interesting galleries, interesting Arts Museum. But two full days are enough for visiting downtown Portland.
Lovely hiking trails at about 30 minutes from the town.
Rachel is an excellent host and was there to answer our questions right away. The apartment was just as described and as you see it in the pictures. It is comfortable. It's in a GREAT location for downtown Portland. Convenient to some excellent bars, restaurants and cool stores and very close to the Regency Hotel which has an excellent spa and the waterfront. The interior is cool and funky and the appliances are top notch. The beds are comfortable and the living room is perfect for hanging after a long day of dining and touring.
This hotel was conveniently located right off the interstate, and only about 15 minutes from downtown Portland. We enjoyed the indoor pool, as we arrived during an unusual heat wave. But the best hidden perks are the two attached restaurants. The Volcano has an incredible Greek chef - we had the best soup and Pizza crafted by an expert! And the breakfast at Stacks was exceptional as well - great value, giant portions, and great service. Hidden gem for sure!
Its really all about the location in Portland! The hotel rooms themselves felt a little old, but they were clean and the lobby was really nice. I very much believe that anywhere you stay is going to be similar pricing and you have to pay for valet anywhere on the waterfront, but you might find a more modern hotel for the $400 a night rate if you do a little searching. But really - it was fine for what it is and we were not there to hang out in the hotel anyway.
The front entrance of the hotel was a bit difficult to find. No breakfast or a complimentary snack/drink. The room and walkway had a mold smell. The bedding was a bit dirty. The vending machine was out of order and it appeared that there was only one vending machine. The location was a bit further out of downtown Portland for the price. The overall atmosphere of the hotel was not good. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
We stayed for four days and every day a different breakfast was prepared, all of them delicious! Nice house in a very safe and quiet location. in 2 min walk you can even take the bus for 1 $ to go downtown which was for us very convenient since parking is tremendously expensive in downtown Portland.
The room was lovely and comfortable. The staff were all very friendly. The hotel itself is beautiful and we loved all the original artwork everywhere and comfortable atmosphere. It was a perfect location for a night in Portland's Old Port.
The location is PERFECT for the Old Port area of Portland. Close to food, shops, water. The staff was always friendly and available for questions. The rooms were huge with a great view, and everything was extremely clean and updated.
Location was fine, within walking distance to many downtown sights, and to restaurants on the waterfront.
Availability of private parking spaces were a plus, along with laundry facilities.
Keyless access worked very well.
Executive suite was very spacious and incredible view of downtown Portland. Breakfast was included and was great in comparison to other hotels that include breakfast. And the location is an easy 10 minute walk into town
Perfect location. Was able to walk to the show at the state theatre. Good price. Continental breakfast was OK. I've had better but it was still decent. Construction kept me up in the morning but not the hotels fault.
This is my favorite hostel I have ever used. Cheery, obliging staff, quirky decor, convenient and immaculate bathrooms, sensible method for secure late-night entry; short walk from downtown and from the waterfront.
An amazing stay. Very clean hotel and the location is what you look for on vacation.
If have a car I highly recommend to park your car for 5$ whole day at Portland Parking Division a cross from Becky's Diner
Great Location, near to good Bars and Restaurant,
Staff was incredible helpful and attend all my request
Great Bar Tender who gave excellent advice for Restaurants near to the Hotel
