The Fontenay Hamburg is a 5-star hotel located on the shore of the Alster Lake in Hamburg, within walking distance of the famous shopping area at Jungfernstieg. It gives me great pleasure to give feedback on The Fontenay. We have stayed in numerous 5 Star hotels around the world over the last many years and we have never experienced anything like The Fontenay. It is very luxurious, elegantly decorated and has a charming and very welcoming atmosphere with very attentive and professional staff. The location is fantastic right at the beautiful Alster lake. In short it was a magical experience. We shall definitely come back. Thank you all at The Fontenay for making our stay with a truly memorable experience.

Located in a former school building, the family-run Hotel Volkschule offers comfortable rooms in central Hamburg. Free WiFi internet access is available throughout the hotel. I really had a lovely stay in this hotel. Its a renovated old schoolhouse and you can see its evolution from school to hotel on various trendy pictures on the corridor walls. It's very nicely decorated in a modern style but manages to keep its old worldly charms. The breakfast room is very large (like a school canteen) and there was a large selection of things to eat. Really enjoyed the breakfast! Our room was comfortable, spacious and quiet. The location was good too for what we needed. There is a U-bahn stop about 5 minutes walk away which brings you to the city centre in about 20minutes. There is a nice and cozy bar / lounge area just left of the reception area. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. I really liked my stay here. If I return to Hamburg one day I would go back here again without hesitation (if not too expensive). I think I got a good deal this time.

The location was outstanding. The staff was really customer centered! Great staff everywhere! The breakfast buffet was fantastic. A lot to chose from.

This 5-star hotel is located on the Alster Lake in the heart of Hamburg. The Fairmont Hamburg offers gourmet cuisine, free WiFi and a luxury spa and fitness club. The Best Hotel In Germany I have ever stayed, far better than eg HH Atlantic or HH Reichshof, also definitely much nicer than eg Berlin Adlon. I was for 17th time in HH and first time stayed there. Promised myslef to come back. Definitely I may recommend it as I tend to spend good 1m each year in various hotels across different countries and my stay in HVJ absolutely belonged to the most spledid ones:)
