Offering studios with a view of Hokianga Harbour, Opononi Hotel is a 15-minute drive from ‘Tane Mahuta’, the giant Kauri tree. It offers a restaurant, free parking on site and free Wi-Fi access. The hosts went out of their way to make our stay as comfy as possible in the middle of a cyclone. Many thanks to all of you!

Overlooking Hokianga Harbour at Omapere, The Sands Hotel Hokianga is a pretty 4-star hotel offering spacious accommodation in a lovely location. The room was right on the beach. Spectacular views off the harbour. The restaurant meal was spot on!

Wisteria Way is a recently renovated guest house in Opononi, where guests can make the most of its garden and shared lounge. A beautiful guest house in the vicinity of Waipoua Kauri forest, with fantastic garden. It is located close to a main road, but there was not traffic at night and the place was very quiet. As there is no town nearby, we could observe an amazing sky with thousands and thousands of stars in the evening. Very friendly and helpful host.

Opononi Bliss has sea views, free WiFi and free private parking, set in Opononi, less than 1 km from Opononi Beach. The property was built in 2006 and features accommodation with a terrace. Really liked the place, all you would need, near the town and lovely views of the water. Check in was really easy with the communication from the hosts

Brockies B n B in Rawene provides accommodation with a garden, a terrace and a shared lounge. With free WiFi, this 5-star bed and breakfast offers a shared kitchen. Our hostess is extremely friendly, beautiful gardens, area to take walk along harbor, great breakfast. Does have stairs to bedroom, but easy to navigate.

Boasting a garden, shared lounge and views of sea, Riverhead Villa is set in Horeke, 47 km from Kemp House and Stone Store. This bed and breakfast offers free private parking and a shared kitchen. This is a lovely period house that has been reolcated up onto the hill, the views are stunning. The meals we had were all great, simple wholesome food but prepeared well and served in a lovely dining room. lovely quiet spot and we enjoyed ending the day with a relaxing sit on the veranda and a good book.

ONEPU MOANA RETREAT Holiday Home is located in Opononi and offers a terrace. With ocean views, this accommodation provides a patio. A stunning place to stay for an extended family who travelled from Taranaki Gisborne and Auckland to attend a marae opening.

Marriner's Boutique Guesthouses in Rawene offers bungalows with free parking and free WiFi. Full in-room dinner service is available by arrangement. The guesthouse was stunning with no detail missed. Robyn prepared lamb shanks for us for dinner and they were delicious. Unfortunately we think we stayed at the best accommodation early in our trip and nothing else will begin to compare. Thanks Robyn!

Waiotemarama Falls Lodge is a holiday home located in Opononi, 47 km from Kaitaia. Guests benefit from balcony and a sun terrace. Free private parking is available on site. This is an exceptional property - its location; the peacefulness; the night sky; the cicadas on the verandah supports in the morning sun. Inside it's well equipped and comfortable and our hosts were exceptionally warm and welcoming and willing to share their knowledge of the area and its culture without being intrusive.

Just 20 metres from Opononi Beach, Opononi Lighthouse Motel offers a hot tub, BBQ and free WiFi. All accommodation features a living area with a TV. The bed was soooooo comfortable! Location is gorgeous, insane sunset. The owner was lovey, and the spa is definitely a plus. :)
