A short distance from breathtaking waterfalls and within driving distance of Hawaii National Volcanoes Park, SCP Hilo Hotel offers comfortable accommodations and a swimming pool. Location close to airport; waterfront and beach; close to a few reasonably prices and pleasant restaurants; and at the edge of a beautiful park with walkways along water front. The hotel itself was bright, clean and had a contemporary designer vibe. I enjoyed the pool with its large comfortable patios , and the hospitality rooms just off that pool area, for hotel guests.

The facility was the best ‘value for money’ in the area. The free local buses meant we could go anywhere. No restaurant in this hotel but that was okay as we went elsewhere, no problem. I would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone else travelling on a budget.

All! Even though it's a simple, local and antique hotel, our stay was great! Staring by Lee at front desk that was so kind and amazing to us. If you're expecting for a super fancy and impersonal hotel, this is not for you. The stay was great because it was simple, connected to the nature and cultural. You sleep and wake up with the sound of the animals outside and it was so beautiful. Breakfast is very nice and the area you get to eat is rich of details and, of course, more nature. Price was great for the offerings. If you are a nature and local culture appreciator, that place is for you.

I highly highly recommend booking this. The room is fantastic, it has private access, it's spacious, it's cosy, the location couldn't be better for Volcano National Park and to watch the lava in the crater and the it's very good value for money.

Lovely peaceful location near the coast, super quiet. Great amenities, the laundry room of stuff to borrow was great - the cool box was really useful on day trips!
